Warren to host the RI Statewide Preservation Conference on April 26th, 2014

The Warren Preservation Society is proud to announce that Warren is the host community for the 29th Annual RI State Preservation Conference.  This all day event will take place on Saturday, April 26th, beginning at 9:00 am at the Baptist Church in Warren and ending at 5:00 pm with a closing reception at Warren Armory.
The day is divided into three sessions of lectures and discussions on various preservation efforts in Warren.  There are also tours--bike tours, boat tours, and walking tours--that highlight Warren's cultural, historical and natural assets.  Several of our WPS members are leading sessions and tours throughout the conference.
The conference agenda and registration form are available at www.preservation.ri.gov/conference
There are also conference programs available at George Hail Library, Warren Town Hall, Delekta Pharmacy, Coffee Depot, Dish, the Wooden Midshipman and other Warren businesses.
Please register by April 12th to reserve your space--several popular sessions and tours are already filled. Registration is also available the morning of the conference from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m. at the Baptist Church of Warren, 407 Main Street. The registration fee is $40.00, which includes lunch.
At our March meeting at Simply Devine, WPS welcomed Sarah Zurier of the RI State Historical and Heritage Commission as our guest of honor.   She gave our members information about the upcoming conference and we were pleased to officially welcome her to Warren at such a special venue.
WPS is hoping to encourage as many of our members and friends as possible to attend the conference on Saturday, April 26th.   If you have any question about the event, please email info@preservewarren.org.
