WPS and the RI State Preservation Conference--Heirloom State of Mind

The Randall House at 31 Baker Street was a featured during the RI State Preservation Conference which was hosted in Warren on April 26, 2014.  In a session entitled "Gardening in an Heirloom State of Mind", New England garden authority Roger B. Swain discussed the past and present cultivation of produce and emphasized the strong connection between preservation and sustainability.

The session concluded with a visit to the Randall House where garden designer Christine Lichatz and WPS President Eileen Collins revealed plans to create a low maintenance, sustainable period garden.

The Warren Preservation Society would like to thank Roger B. Swain and Christine Lichatz for their presentations, and also the many attendees of the conference who were able to share in our on-going plans for the restoration of this historic property. The restoration of the gardens at the Randall House is currently under way...we will keep you posted on our progress!
