DONATE HERE Stop the Demolition of 113 and 119 Water Street

Original proposed development

The owner of the Waterdog Kitchen and Bar, Daniel Teodoro, has filed for a permit to demolish two historic buildings abutting his property located at 125 Water Street. In place of these buildings the property owner plans to erect a modern mixed commercial and residential building. This new building is inappropriate to the prevailing scale, design and surface treatments of the predominantly 1- and 2- story buildings of the Warren Waterfront Historic District.

The Warren Waterfront Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 (updated in 2003). The 19th century buildings at 113 and 119 Water Street are inventoried in the district documentation as "Contributing Buildings" and have the same status as individually listed buildings.

Warren Preservation Society, the Warren Heritage Foundation, and the Massasoit Historical Association have joined forces to retain legal counsel to stop this thoughtless demolition of two buildings closely associated with the historic character of Warren's greatest asset and economic engine--the Waterfront Historic District.

Join us in contributing to the legal fund to stop the demolition of these historic buildings and to protect the future of Water Street!
